The call for nominations for the fourth annual Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector has been extended to Friday, February 17, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

In its fourth year, the Award of Excellence for Comptrollership in the Public Sector includes two award categories:

  1. Innovation
  2. Financial Leadership (CFO)

This year two awards will be granted in the Innovation category, one for a large department or agency and one for a small department or agency.

In addition, consideration forms may be submitted for the CMA - CIPFA Lifetime Achievement Award, which is awarded at the discretion of the selection committee.

Award Criteria:
The nominee must have made a significant contribution to financial management or comptrollership within the Government of Canada. A significant contribution to financial management or comptrollership can be made in a number of ways. A significant contribution may be helping an agency develop a corporate risk profile; implementing a new policy; or establishing a government-wide initiative, to name a few examples.
